Back on Track!

Hi city peeps! We've missed you this summer! Sorry for being MIA for most of it (2 months off, holy smokes! where did the time go?), but we hope you had a great one :)

I have a confession to make. This past month, I completely fell off the bandwagon. No scheduled workouts, no fitness classes, and thus, no blog posts...and I don't feel guilty. Not one bit!

Between vacation, eating out all the time, and galavanting this summer, there's been very little time left for working out. Oh who am I kidding, I've just been lazy about it. It's summer, c'est la vie.

What I can say is, even though I haven't kept up with my usual structured workouts, I find myself gravitate towards active things to do while on vacation. Here are some tips from our previous posts on how to keep fit while on vacation (in Vegas and on a winter getaway). On my latest adventure to Hawaii, I found myself walking everywhere, swimming almost everyday, jogging along the beach, and of course hiking!
L (calm on the outside, panicking on the inside) before tackling a muddy & slippery trek up the Pali Puka.
Mount Olympus - breathtaking views like this make all the huffing and puffing worth it.
Being active on vacay also helps to balance out all the yummy-ness going in my tummy.
The infamous hula pie. Ice cream, chocolate sauce..and loads of macadamia nut...mmmmm!
Now that I've been back for a few weeks, I still haven't quite bounced back yet (read: not working out). Plus my motivation has been...well, nada. But I've been looking for other (fun) ways to be active in the city.
Hiking at Rouge Park - a hidden gem just 20 minutes outside Toronto.
Rouge Park - really makes me appreciate what the city has to offer! Weekly hiking trips anybody?
Gorgeous view from V's hike to Pink Lake, Gatineau Park.
Last softball game of the season, we're gonna miss it!
Now that summer's over, me & V are looking for ways to get back on track. We thought, hey, why not join a running club? I can't say that my greatest love is to run, but I'm determined to make myself enjoy it. Runners out there make it seem like such a carefree and meditative experience..I want in on that too :) To all you Toronto people out there, who's in a running club? So far, we've looked into running clubs from Nike, Lululemon, Running Room -- are you part of one? Does it help to motivate you? We'd love to hear from you!

Have an amazing start to September :)

xoxo,
V&L
