Rev Up Your Week Mondays: Workout Playlist

It's Rev Up Your Week Mondays! To get you moving and staying focused we are sharing our favourite workout tunes. Like most of you, we just love, love, love music! Let's face it, getting through a workout sans music can be dreadful! Nothing beats a playlist full of upbeat songs that pushes you through a tough workout and makes you go longer. With the right music you won't even feel like you're working out....or that you ran a whole 5k! (ok, maybe you will but you get the point!)

L and I love discovering new music and are always trying to find the next song to 'ruin'. When a song is deemed 'ruin-able' (yes, I just made up a word) it gets us pumped and makes us wanna move! We can't get enough of it that we play it on repeat until we can't listen to it anymore (usually about 5 days). We add these songs to our workout playlist and also play these songs during one of our famous car parties. I make a playlist full of hyper songs and we hit the open road! You'll know we are having a car party if you see us dancing around, pretending to sing into mics.....if you ever see this, just smile and wave :)

Basically, we love all types of music - rock, hip hop, rap, trance, dance, pop, reggae, alternative, and so forth. As long as it has a good beat and gets us pumped, we love it! Now that's not to say that L and I don't differ sometimes on what we consider a good song. There are some songs that she just cannot get into, mostly songs that I keep on my pink ipod (folk, indie, country). Not to worry, these songs are not included here.

  3. That is such a nice and long list of music to work out to!! I barely know any of it. Clearly I need to listen to the radio more.
Funny story: I love reggaeton. A few times I tried to jog to it and found that it just slows me down because you invariably follow the beat, haha. So I think if you want to keep the pace up you need something up-beat like electronic trance/house.

    1. There's actually an iphone app that will speed up or slow down the beat of your tunes (you can tailor it to suit your jogging routine) by beats per minute (I can't rmb the name of the app right now). Music definitely plays a huge factor in how fast you go! :)- V&L
