CCF Bakes, Runs & Eats!

Happy Monday and first day of April! Hope everyone had an amazing Easter weekend and spent time with family and friends.

CCF had a very relaxing and productive long weekend. It started with some baking - Breakfast Fruit and Nut Cookies from Tosca Reno's Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook. I made some CCF modifications to the recipe and it turned out delicious. These cookies are very filling too because they are jam-packed with so much goodness: almonds, dried cranberries, ground flaxseed, raisons and oats! Plus, they are super healthy since they are made with whole wheat flour, brown sugar and no butter. If you have some time and are in the mood for some baking, I highly recommend these cookies.

Choosing the Right Gym

Hey city peeps, happy Saturday! Hope everyone had an awesome week! The temperatures are climbing and it's starting to feel like spring! Let's all take advantage by getting outside and enjoying this gorgeous weather!

We had a question thrown at us this week that we wanted to share. It was from someone that signed up for a gym membership with her sister and wanted to know what kind of workout to do. She joined because her sister asked her to. Kudos to her for being a supportive sister! I think anyone that decides to get healthy and start an exercise regime is very brave. This made me realize that being a gym newbie is intimidating. Signing the contract is the easy part, it's actually going that's hard! I've taken my ease at the gym for granted, some might even consider me a bit of a gym rat, because I've been going for years.

February Kickoff: Librarians Unite!

Hi guys! How are you doing? :) Happy Fit & Fab February!

Every year, the Ontario Library Association (OLA) holds its annual 3-day Super Conference in Toronto where librarians from all across Canada gather to do what we do best..um, no, not shush each other, but share ideas on how we can continue to educate, entertain, and empower (#SC13Theme). Not to mention free books & author signings!! Yes, that kind of stuff makes us very happy. And yes, we are librarians, in case you didn't believe it the first time we told ya.

So we took a day away from the reference desk and ventured off to the Super Conference!
*Side note: It's a Super conference because librarians are superheroes. Don't believe me? Read this: 20 heroic librarians who save the world.

Gym Buddies, Yay or Nay?

This probably isn't the first time this has come up, but what do you guys think? Do you like having a buddy to go to the gym with or do you prefer gyming solo?

Personally, I love gyming alone. When I say gyming, I really mean hopping on the treadmill or elliptical, using the weight machines, etc. You have a set routine, you're pressed for time, and you wanna get in and get out. Fast. No one to hold you back or slow down your workout, you're 100% focused and ready to go. This is what I call true Beast Mode. Like this (ok not really, but come on it's so cute, I had to post it):

Got the Monday Blues? Kick 'em to the Curb!

Helloooo ladies (and gents), this is our first post on our blog (we haven't even written our bios yet!); but  we're just super pumped from our workout session this morning that we just had to share it with you.

Today happens to be Blue Monday. Yes just the sound of it is super depressing. For those of you who don't know, Blue Monday happens every 3rd Monday of January. It's scientifically proven that today is bluer than any other Monday of the year because: post-holiday syndrome is really kicking in, everyone's feeling the back-to-work blues, it's finally time to pay those credit card bills, we're still struggling to lose those extra pounds we gained, and on top of it all, it's COLD & gloomy (for those of you in Toronto, you know what I'm talking about re: EXTREME cold alert)...enough said.
